1. Can you send someone out to shovel my driveway or sidewalk?

Residents are responsible for snow removal on their property. Public Works Department is responsible for snow removal on all Village streets. Main streets are given priority with the side streets and Central Business District sidewalks to follow.

Residents are not permitted to clear snow from their driveways into the street. Doing so makes it difficult for Public Works crews to keep streets clear for emergency vehicles and other motorists.

2. Where do I get the free mulch Riverside offers?

The mulch pile is located behind the Public Works building in the northwest corner of the property. Drive to the rear of the building past the fuel pumps to reach the mulch pile. Be sure to bring you own shovel, container(s) and enough manpower to move the mulch you wish to take.

3. How do I get a banner hung in the park for my special event?

Banners for Village or civic organizations are permitted and will be hung by Village employees in Guthrie Park and Centennial Park. The Public Works Department keeps the calendar for banners and must approve all requests on a first come first served basis.
