I am selling my house in Riverside, what do I need to do?
Riverside Village Code requires that homeowners obtain a Certificate of Compliance whenever title is transferred for a structure, building or dwelling unit, whether or not there is monetary consideration. The expense is the seller’s responsibility and the Certificate of Compliance must be given to the new owner at the time of closing.

An inspection of the property and an original, stamped, recent copy of the Plat of Survey, no older than 6 months, are required for the Certificate of Compliance. A final water read will be scheduled at the same time as the inspection. Please contact the Building Department to set up an appointment a week to 10 days before the closing date.
