Riverside Police, Riverside School District 96, and St. Mary’s School staff partnered for safety drills which were held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
As part of ongoing emergency action plan, the drill is designed for “prevention, preparedness, response and recovery from an intruder incident.” At no time were any students or staff in immediate danger.
Said Riverside Chief Thomas Weitzel, "I was pleased with the involvement of our officers and with the way both District 96 and St. Mary’s implemented the crisis management plan. The safety of the students, teachers, and our officers are of paramount importance. How we react to a crisis will determine the overall success dealing with any crisis."
District 96 and St. Mary’s are continuing to work closely with Riverside Police on all issues related to the safety of students and staff.
