The 4,000 pound Killed In Action memorial stone needs a concrete footing for stability. The World War I Memorial stones need to be cleaned and reset. The area is also in need of landscaping.  Anyone wishing to make a donation toward restoration of this patriotic historic site in Riverside can write a check payable to: "Village of Riverside, Gold Star Memorial".  Donations are being accepted at the Riverside Village Office.

Additionally, American Legion Post 488 is in possession of Gold Star Certificates for the following service members and is seeking assistance in locating surviving family members:  LT John Neal D. Smith, CAPT Keith A. Orsinger, LT Richard Jicka, PFC George D. Bohaty, LT Mark W. Castle, PFC Burt L. Krusger, PFC Donald C. Lundgren, A/C Robert H. MacFarlane, S/SGT Harry P. Martini, A/C Thomas McCue, CPL Jack L. Thatcher, LT Graham Treslor, LT John T. Warner, S/SGT Merls F. Wolfe.  Anyone with information on the families of these fallen heroes is asked to call Cathy Haley at the village office.  The Legion would like to forward the certificates to surviving family members.
