Bailey Hastings spent a week with Drug Enforcement Administration

Riverside Police Explorer Bailey Hastings (17, Riverside) attended a week-long leadership academy in Quantico, Virginia at the Drug Enforcement Administration Academy. The week long experience was designed to promote leadership and character building amongst the 28 selected Explorers from across the United States.  The Explorers received expert training on character development, confidence building and decision making from professionals across federal law enforcement.  The Explorers were able to meet countless influential experts, motivational speakers and other contacts which will enhance their careers in law enforcement.

“At the leadership academy, I developed and learned to hone my leadership, critical thinking and adaptation skills. I had a truly rewarding experience that taught me skills I will continue to draw upon for the rest of my life. Staying at the Quantico Marine Base has motivated and given me a real picture of what I need to work towards,” said Explorer Bailey Hastings.

The Riverside Police Explorer Post #390 is a cooperative effort between the Riverside Police Department and the Boy Scouts of America (Learning for Life).  For more information about the Riverside Police Explorer Program, contact Officer Brian Greenenwald at bgreenenwald@riverside.il.us
