Riverside Township Hall is an original element of the General Plan of Riverside. Built in 1895, it was designed by architect George Ashby. The chateau style building features a massive and irregular form, steeply pitched, hipped roof with copper ridges and decorative finials. The building was constructed with a mixture of rusticated limestone and brick materials with decorative stone banding employed across the second floor at the level of the lintels. It cost about $26,000 to build.
The structure is listed in the 1972 Illinois Historic Structures Survey of the Illinois Department of Conservation.
