Village code specifies that each structure assigned a street address must display the address number so it is distinctly visible and easy to read from the street/ public right- of-way.
The following standards must be met: Addresses must be shown at least 4 inches in height in numerals. Any custom numbers must not be too small and in numerical format ( e. g. 123, not One Hundred Twenty -Three).
Seasonal plant growth that obstructs the view of the numbers must be trimmed. Faded or missing numbers must be repainted and readable from the street.
Legible numbers on your house enhance your safety by helping the Police and Fire Department find your home in an emergency.
