Armed Robbery Investigation
On July 26th 2022 at approximately 8PM, Riverside Police was dispatched to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at ARCO Minuteman Gas Station located at 3346 S. Harlem Avenue in Riverside. Upon arrival of Riverside Officers, as well as officers from neighboring agencies, were advised of offender description and that he was armed with a black handgun. Officers immediately began to search the area and review video surveillance from the area. It was determined that the offender ran from the gas station westbound on East Quincy and entered a vehicle that was parked on the 300 block of East Quincy. The offender entered the driver’s seat of the vehicle and left the area.
The scene was then processed by Officers and through the use of technology, a license plate for the offending vehicle was determined. This information was broadcast to all police agencies.
On July 27th, 2022 at approximately 10:15 AM, Riverside Officers were advised by the DuPage County Fusion Center that the license plate from our offending vehicle was observed in the area of I-290 and Wolf Rd in Hillside. Officers from Riverside, Bellwood and Hillside went to this area to check for the offending vehicle. The offending vehicle was located in a parking lot at Wolf Road and Harrison Street in Hillside. As a female entered the driver’s seat, Officers moved in and located the offender from the armed robbery in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The offender was taken into custody and transported to the Central Lockup Facility at the North Riverside Police Department.
Riverside Officers notified the Cook County State’s Attorney and presented the facts of the case. The Cook County State’s Attorney Office approved Armed Robbery charges.
Charged with Armed Robbery is: Khalid Bryant age 25 from Berwyn Illinois.
