Effective June 1, the Village’s water/sewer rate was increased. This increase is based upon the increase in cost of water from The Village of McCook and the increase in union wages. The Village’s current water/sewer rate of $15.72 per unit (100 cubic feet) was increased to $16.50 per unit. Please note that your August water bill will include a blended rate, as it will calculate both May and June usage. Starting in September, water bills will all be charged according to the new rate.
The Village is also in the process of replacing water meters. Currently, water bills are calculated in cubic feet, with one unit (100 cubic feet) equating to $16.50. Once your water meter is replaced, your bill will be calculated in 1,000 gallons. The conversion would be $22.05 per unit (1,000 gallons).
