The annual Riverside Community Memorial Day Ceremony to remember and honor the “Riverside 54” Soldiers who were killed and buried at sea will be held at the St. Mary Church Parish Center. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. Plenty of parking will be available and all are welcome. A reading of the “Riverside 54” soldiers' names will be the central focus of this educational program. After the program, come over to Guthrie Park's Gold Star Memorial for the Wreath ceremony, which will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The 2022 Riverside honored veteran is Staff Sgt. Greg Saganich, veteran of the US Army and the US Air Force. Staff Sgt. Saganich served his country with three combat tours of duty to Egypt, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
