[ARCHIVED] Burglary Incident Arrest Update

On March 20th 2022, at approximately 10:40 PM, Riverside Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Shenstone for the report of a subject who was observed on video attempting to gain entry to the vehicles parked in the rear of a residence. Officers who responded were given a description of the offender and immediately checked the area, but were unable to locate this individual. At approximately 11:10 PM Officers were advised of another incident on the 300 block of Nuttall Rd where a subject was observed on video attempting to gain entry to several vehicles parked in the rear of a residence. Again, officers arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate the offender. A short time later, North Riverside Officers observed a subject standing in front of a business located at 26th and Desplaines. This individual had a similar description as the offender from these incidents. While investigating this subject it was determined that he had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Hodgkins Police Department. This subject was turned over to Hodgkins PD for the arrest warrant.

The course of this investigation involved the review of multiple videos from multiple locations. As a result, this individual who was located in North Riverside was determined to be the offender in the two Riverside incidents. The offender was then arrested by Riverside Police on March 24th 2022 and felony charges were approved by Cook County State’s Attorney.

OFFENDER: John Kimborough, 45 years old from Berwyn, Illinois was charged with two counts of Attempted Burglary, these are Class 3 felonies.
