Metra has announced the theme of this year's safety poster and essay contest: "Safety Is A Choice You Make". The deadline to enter the contest is Friday, December 17, 2021. Since its launch in 2006, the Metra Safety Poster and Essay contest has received more than 36,000 entries from students throughout northeastern Illinois. This means over 36,000 students activly engage in learning about what they can do to stay safe around trains and railroad tracks. Please encourage the young people you know to enter the contest and choose safety near train tracks.
