IDOT is scheduled to begin the resurfacing of Des Plaines Avenue from 26th Street to 31st Street starting April 19. There will be lane closures. Expect delays. The estimated completion date for this project is early July.
IDOT is also scheduled to begin a bridge deck reconstruction project on the 31st Street bridge over the Des Plaines River in Riverside and North Riverside on May 3. Traffic patterns will be shifted and reduced to one lane in each direction to accomplish work on the bridge. The estimated completion date for the project is mid July, 2021.
Expect delays when traveling in the area or choose an alternate route for the duration of these projects if possible.
