Riverside Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the offender from an attempted garage burglary from a home on the 300 block of Fairbank Road in Riverside.
On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at about 4 a.m., Riverside Police received a call from a resident reporting an attempted garage burglary. He advised that he received a Ring notification at 1:53 a.m. of a subject attempting to get in to his garage.
The offender was unsuccessful at the garage burglary attempt at this location.
Responding officers checked the area for the offender and were unable to locate anyone. They collected DNA evidence from certain structures on the property where the attempt garage burglary occurred.
Riverside Police are asking anyone that may have video of the incident or have had this same type of incident at their home to send that to crimetips@riverside.il.us.
The offender in this incident is described as a male, gray and black jacket, black hood, tight black and/or maroon pants, black shoes, black socks, and had on a white facemask. It was also observed wearing a black glove on his left hand and it appeared his right hand was bare. At the time of the incident he was riding a yellow and/or orange bicycle with silver handlebars.
