Mortgage Assistance
The Cook County COVID-19 Mortgage Assistance program, funded by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, pays one to three months of overdue or future mortgage payments for income-eligible households. Payments will be made directly to mortgage servicers up to a total of $10,000. The Cook County COVID-19 Recovery program offers mortgage relief starting Oct 9 through October 16.
Wait List Openings for Rental Housing
The Housing Authority of Cook County will be opening the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program on Monday, October 19. Applicants will have until Monday, November 2, to apply for one of 10,000 spots on the waiting list for a Housing Choice Voucher. Interested individuals should apply online. HACC voucher recipients have access to numerous supports and services, including mobility counseling and educational resources for young people.
