Sgt. Leo Kotor was recognized by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM) for making his 300th DUI arrest in February of 2017.  Chief Weitzel presented Sgt. Kotor with the AAIM Certificate of Appreciation for this milestone in DUI, and alcohol and drug impairment enforcement.

In addition to recognition from the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists, Sgt. Kotor will be recognized by the Illinois Department of Transportation. IDOT will honor Sgt. Kotor with a pin for his uniform and a patch for his dedicated removal of impaired drivers from Illinois roadways.

Sgt. Kotor has served the Village of Riverside since 1996 and has earned Riverside Police Department's Officer of the Year award, the Cook County Sheriff's Award of Merit and several departmental citations and commendations from Chief Weitzel and the Command staff.

Sgt. Kotor is assigned to the afternoon shift (3PM-11PM).

“There is no greater satisfaction as a police officer than to realize your accomplishments are making a difference in the community you serve,” said Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel. “Sgt. Leo Kotor has demonstrated his commitment to removing impaired drivers from our roadways and I have no doubt he has saved thousands of lives."
