The 2020 Assessment Appeal Session is now open at the Cook County Board of Review. The following townships may now file an assessment appeal through August 28, 2020: Oak Park, River Forest & Riverside.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Review is encouraging property owners to file a property assessment appeal online by visiting the Cook County Board of Review website. Online appeals require a valid email address. If you filed an appeal online in a prior year and created an account, simply login, include any new evidence you wish to have considered and submit. The Board of Review strongly encourages everyone to create an account when filing online as there are several benefits to doing so, including the ability to view analysts decisions, which provides a greater understanding of how a determination is rendered.
If you have trouble login into your online account and require a password resent, please call 312-603-5542.
To help residents understand the appeal process, the Board of Review is offering assessment appeal seminars online this year. Residents will be able to attend a virtual seminar from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Dates and times for webinars will be available soon. Registration is required. Please visit the Cook County Board of Review’s Taxpayer Education Center to view helpful videos about the appeal process.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Board of Review at 312-603-3651. Staff is available to provide information on how the appeal process works and answer questions.
