[ARCHIVED] Temporary Meter Parking During Construction

Temporary Parking During Construction

The reconstruction of Parking Lot 1, next to the Metra station, with permeable pavers, will begin on  Monday, March 18, 2019.  The project will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.  During this project, Parking Lot 1 will be closed and metered parking spaces located within the lot will not be available.

On April 1, 2019, construction will begin on Bloomingbank Road for the Metra Pedestrian Access Improvement Project.  This project will take approximately 12 weeks.  Metered Spaces 76 through 88 along Bloomingbank Road will be unavailable beginning April 1, 2019.  Additionally, Bloomingbank Road will be closed near the Metra station and Burling Road will become a  two-way street, eliminating street parking on Burling and Bloomingbank.

Please review the attached map of the temporary metered spots the Village will be adding during the Parking Lot 1 and Metra intersection improvement construction projects.  The parking meter machine, located at the west end of the train station platform, will remain accessible throughout construction. You will be responsible for paying all appropriate meter fees.  Remember the number of the space you park in and enter that number into the machine.

Payment can be made by cash, credit card, with your phone via app (PassportParking), website (www.m.ppprk.com) or phone number (708-716-0716).  The Zone for each of these options is 60546.  Signage explaining payment options is located above the pay machine. The metered spaces cost 25 cents per hour, and can be programmed for up to 12 hours at a time. Additional time may be purchased AFTER the meter expires.  These spaces are free on weekends, from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday, and on holidays.  Click here to see a short video on how to use the parking meter.

Any vehicle that has not been removed from Parking Lot 1 by 12:01 a.m. on Monday, March 18, will be towed.  Any vehicle parked illegally in any village parking lot or on any village roadway will be ticketed and/or towed.

The Village apologizes for the inconvenience these projects will create for residents and commuters alike, but when they are completed, both residents and commuters will enjoy the improved parking lot and streetscape.  Please feel free to contact the Village at  708-447-2700 if you have questions or concerns.   To receive updates on the Village’s current construction projects, please follow us on Facebook @villageofriverside and sign up for Riverside eflashes at www.riverside.il.us.
