Riverside Police Investigate Shooting
On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at approximately 7:01 PM, Riverside police officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at the 0-100 block of Forest Avenue. When officers arrived, they located numerous shell cases in the street in front of 54 Forest but no victim.
Several minutes after the reported shooting, Broadview was dispatched to a shooting victim on the 2900 block of 13th Avenue. This was the victim from the Riverside shooting who drove home from the shooting scene in Riverside and collapsed. This 19-year-old male resident of Broadview is currently in surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with multiple gunshot wounds.
The reason for the shooting is currently being investigated by detectives. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
No suspect(s) are in custody at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
