The Frederick Law Olmsted Society (FLOS) announces a photo contest as part of its 50th Anniversary, and in anticipation of the 150th Anniversary in 2019 of Olmsted and Vaux’s Riverside General Plan. Everyone is eligible to enter a photo of either a private garden design or a public landscape in Riverside. The Spring Contest starts April 1 and extends through June 15, 2018. Additional contests for each season are planned.
“We hope to honor the natural beauty of Riverside through this photo contest,” says FLOS President, Cathy Maloney. “It’s almost impossible not to take a good picture in this beautiful village.” Two winners will be chosen for the Spring contest, as measured by popular vote on Facebook or by Olmsted Society judges who will look for how the image captures Frederick Law Olmsted’s design ideals.
