Village Clerk

The Village Clerk's office maintains all official Village records including Village Board Agendas, Minutes, Ordinances, Resolutions, Contracts, and the Village Code Book. The Village Clerk also administers voter registration and business licensing.

Business License

All businesses operating in the Village of Riverside must complete a Business License Application and remit the appropriate licensing fee by January 1st of each year.

Voter Registration

Residents may register to vote in the Village office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In order to register to vote, you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years old by the date of the next election
  • A resident of the election precinct for at least 30 days prior to the date of the next election

If you meet the above requirements, you will need two pieces of identification, including one that shows your current address. Examples: valid driver's license or state issued identification card, utility bill, personal checkbook.

If you move within Cook County and have a current voter registration card, you may follow the instructions on the back of the card to complete a transfer of registration by mail. If the card is not current, or if you have changed your name, the revision must be handled in the Village office or online via the Illinois State Board of Elections website.

Registrations and revisions cannot be accepted within the 28 days prior to an election or for two days following an election.
