The Foreign Fire Tax Board (FFTB) manages a fund made up of the revenues received from the Foreign Fire Tax for the Village of Riverside. The general purpose of the fund is to allocate monies for the use, maintenance and benefit of the Riverside Fire Department, within the guidelines established Village Ordinance (3-12:1-05, 1995) and the State of Illinois (65ILCS5/11-10).
The State law and Riverside Ordinance require any insurance company not incorporated within the State of Illinois to pay 2% of their receipts from fire tax on properties within the Village of Riverside to the Village of Riverside FFTB.
Fire Chief, Nonvoting Member
This commission consists of members elected annually by all regular members of the Riverside Fire Department.
