Hydrant Flushing in Riverside

Riverside Logo with Tower in the Background

The Riverside Department of Public Works began flushing fire hydrants in the village this week.  This work will continue for the next several weeks.  The flushing of hydrants helps maintain the quality of water and the mains themselves.  Immediately after the flushing of a hydrant in your area, there may be some temporary discoloration of the water.  While the water is safe, prior to doing laundry, you will want to run non-aerated faucets such as those found in your bathtub or basement utility sink until the water runs clear.  The Water Department and everyone at the Department of Public Works appreciates your patience with our effort to maintain the highest quality of water.
