Temporary Parking Changes Take Effect May 13

Temporary Parking During Construction

Reconstruction of Commuter Lot 1 is nearing completion!

The reconstruction of Parking Lot 1, next to the Metra station, with permeable pavers, began on Monday, March 18 and is nearing completion.  Improvements will be completed on Friday, May 17 and the lot will reopen to commuters on Monday, May 20, 2019.  If you have a quarterly permit, please watch your mail for your new parking space assignment.

Construction continues around the Metra station.

The Metra Pedestrian Access Improvement Project will start on Monday, May 13.  This project will take approximately 12 weeks.  During this time, on street and metered parking will be unavailable.  Map of parking changes effective May 13, 2019:  Bloomingbank Road.

On May 20, 2019, construction will continue on Bloomingbank Road around the Metra Station and Bloomingbank Road will be closed off.  Burling Road will become a 2-way street for the
duration of the project.  Map of parking changes effective May 20, 2019:  Burling Road.  There will be no on-street parking during this time.

Please review the maps (above) of the temporary metered spots the Village will be adding during the Metra Pedestrian Intersection Improvement Project.  The parking meter machine, located at the west end of the train station platform, will remain accessible throughout construction. You will be responsible for paying all appropriate meter fees.  Remember the number of the space you park in and enter that number into the machine.

Payment can be made by cash, credit card, with your phone via app (PassportParking), website (www.m.ppprk.com) or phone number (708-716-0716).  The Zone for each of these options is 60546.  Signage explaining payment options is located above the pay machine. The metered spaces cost 25 cents per hour, and can be programmed for up to 24 hours at a time. Additional time may be purchased AFTER the meter expires.  These spaces are free on weekends, from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday, and on holidays.  Click here to see a short video on how to use the parking meter.

The Village apologizes for the inconvenience these projects are creating for residents and commuters alike, but when they are completed, both residents and commuters will enjoy the improved parking lot and streetscape.  Please feel free to contact the Village at  708-447-2700 if you have questions or concerns.   To receive updates on the Village’s current construction projects, please follow us on Facebook @villageofriverside and sign up for Riverside eflashes at www.riverside.il.us.
